About THE BOOK:

Looking to buy the book in Canada?

Who is this book for?

Mostly women.

Overwhelmed women who could use a hug, and some understanding that they are not alone trying to balance the weight of the world, while emptying the dishwasher. But guys seem to like it too.

Is this a self-help book?

Yes. And no.

It’s a slice of self-help, with a whole lotta stories about life and how damn hard and tiring and yet amazing it can be. The first 60 pages are the problem, cause and solution to the thesis that, YOU CAN’T HAVE IT ALL – but, you can have a slice. The first few chapters are a mini-guide to help you find your own slice of happiness. I offer a simple way to find focus on one thing that you feel passionate about; one thing that will help you feel like the person you were before babies, marriages and mortgages. The rest of the book (THE SLICES) are about the eight slices that make up our day-to-day thoughts, frustration and joys that fill our lives. They are the stories that unfold while you are taking the wild ride of raising a family, searching for a career, and wondering if you’ll ever stop using a high ponytail as your “going out” hair. Pick any chapter that appeals to you, you don’t need to read them in order.

I read the book and I get it, but I still feel frustrated. What should I do?

I get it.

Don’t compare your life to people with exuberently happy FB posts, and inspirational quotes meant to give the impression they have it all figured out. Just keep finding one thing that makes you a little bit happier and try to enjoy the place where you are now. One of the alternative solutions in the book is: DON’T DO ANYTHING. Not yet. It’s not your time. Be okay with the idea that when you have small children, and your life feels overwhelming – that it’s not the time to move forward. Take a deep breath. Keep your head above water and eventually, you will get you to the other side. It does get better. You will find yourself again. Give yourself the space and rest you need right now. Call a friend, take a nap or watch Netflix – this time of small children, confused partners, and money struggles is one that sometimes needs all the resilience you can muster to just get through. Do your best. ask for help; and be 100% certain that when YOU are ready – the door will be open.

About PICK YOUR SLICE Free Guide:

What makes you qualified to tell me how to find my slice?

Nothing. And everything.

There’s no reason for you to believe that I have the answer for you. But, I’m probably a lot like you. I want a little more out of life. A little more love, focus and happiness. Before writing A Slice of Happy, I felt the pressure of trying to have it all, and I only found peace when I realized I couldn’t.

Will the PICK YOUR SLICE pdf actually help me?

The short answer: Yes.

I’ve been coaching people most of my life. I like to get results for my clients. I created a simple plan to help ease the overwhelm and find focus in a world filled with noise and distraction. It’s helped my clients breathe a little easier and find one slice that brings them more joy and happiness.

The long answer: Yes.

I believe that this decade of life is filled with tremendous family and career pressure, it is the most costly both financial and emotionally – and I believe it is possibly the most challenging you will face. I know some people aren’t ready to take a step forward, and some people are interested but still not sure, and some people are standing on the edge ready to take a leap of faith. You’ll know when you’re ready. And if you’re not, A Slice of Happy ~ Because the Whole Pie is Overrated will tell you, ‘It’s okay. You are exactly where you can handle being, and you’re not alone.’

This is what the free PDF is for. It will take you through the simple steps of selecting one slice to focus on.

Can I only pick one slice?

Yes.

When you pick one slice to focus on, it doesn’t mean the other slices go away; it just means that they are in the background. No one is going to say that if you are focusing on your career slice, you forget about your children. It means that when you have to make a choice between a kid-centred activity, and getting some business work done, you’re going to pick the opportunity to build your career – because it’s what you truly desire at this time (or work on your paintings, or your community project, or your health). You pick a slice that makes you excited to think about it, a slice where time stands still when you’re in it; and a slice that if you don’t start working on it, you are going to feel worse about all the slices.
